Being Right vs. Being Stubborn

The interplay between being right and being stubborn is the engine of business success. It took me years to appreciate this. Early on, I was influenced by quantitative business school training and Fortune 500 number crunching. I was prone to revisit and fine tune business decisions each and every time there was new data, all the while overlooking flaws that were hopelessly beyond fine tuning. This is a tendency of people with a financial training.

Now I have been influenced by entrepreneurs who pick a direction and then assume, stubbornly, that it is right. Furthermore, they persuasively rally people around their pick.
